There is no universal external connector standard for MIPI CSI-2! That means the critical step in using an Allied Vision Alvium camera with your Connect Tech NVIDIA Jetson carrier board – like the Rogue-T5, Gauntlet, Rogue, Forge, Boson, or Hadron – is bridging the gap created by the non-standardized nature of MIPI CSI-2 external connectors. The purpose of this blog is to help you order the cables and accessories you need to hook them up.
If you are using an Allied Vision Alvium CSI-2 camera with a Jetson AGX Orin with the Rogue or Forge carrier boards, or a Jetson AGX Thor with the Rogue-T5 or Gauntlet carrier boards, this is exactly what you need to order, in addition to your main hardware:
Required Components
- Connect Tech/Allied Vision MIPI Adapter Board (JCB005): This specialized board is essential because it converts the camera’s output to the appropriate high-density connector used on the carrier. The board supports connectors for up to six Allied Vision MIPI CSI-2 cameras.
- Flex Cable: You will need a flex cable to connect your Alvium Camera to the MIPI Adapter Board

Connecting the Hadron or Boson Carrier for Jetson Orin NX to an Alvium CSI-2 Camera
Connecting a carrier for Orin NX and an Alvium camera requires a different setup. You will not need the Connect Tech/Allied Vision MIPI Adapter Board (JCB005). The Hadron-DM and Boson-22 are equipped with 22-pin MIPI CSI-2 connectors. However, the Alvium camera is equipped with a Hirose FH55 FPC connector. (Remember: there is no universal external connector standard for MIPI CSI-2 – you have to bridge the gap😊!)

Required Components
Allied Vision Adapter Board for NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit: The Connect Tech carriers for NVIDIA Jetson feature the same 22-pin MIPI CSI-2 connector found on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Developer board. The adapter board adapts electrical lines, polarity, and voltage levels between the Alvium CSI-2 cameras and the carrier.
Flex Cable: You will need a flex cable to connect your Alvium Camera to the Adapter Board
